Rainbow + Yarrow
offerings are plant dyed natural fibers for everyday living.
Each piece is handmade with intention & integrity.
Through the alchemy of the pigments and spirits of the plant,
a one of a kind healing vibration is imbued into each piece.
Our studio is sheltered under a great grandmother cedar who offers cedar bows to each dye bath as I create within the living landscape and honor the ancestors of this land that continue to inspire me daily.

In Gratitude, Janessa

OUR OFFERINGS ARE PLANT DYED NATURAL FIBERS FOR LIVING LIFE AS RITUAL EVERYDAY

Janessa Fortes Bautista created the Rainbow + Yarrow collection to harmonize beauty, spiritual practice, plant medicine, and everyday function. Inspired by the vibrant spectrum of colors in nature and the healing power of plants, this collection embodies the essence of Mother Nature. Rainbow + Yarrow offers a thoughtfully curated range of clothing and goods designed for comfort, simplicity, and calm—pieces that are both nourishing and practical. Since she began making clothes as a child in 1995, working with natural fibers has been central to her process. Today, Rainbow + Yarrow has evolved beyond a product line—it's a way of life.

Janessa is a designer and plant dye gardener living in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon with her son and white wolf dog. She nurtures a sense of belonging within her community by sharing daily practices, creating beautiful meals, pouring tea, and tending to her gardens. Janessa has been cultivating a way of relating to her plants over the years. Surrounded by a vibrant circle of healers, plant medicine teachers, artists, farmers, musicians, fire tenders, and kindred spirits, she finds inspiration in their collective wisdom and creativity.

As a first-generation Filipina American, Janessa is deeply committed to reconnecting with her ancestral traditions. Her work with plant dyes and plant medicine serves as a vital thread. Just steps away from her outdoor dye studio, she grows her dye plants, overlooking a serene forest of cedar and alder trees.

Guided by values of wisdom, compassion, and integrity, Janessa strives to align her life and creative practices with her aspirations to contribute positively to the world, for the benefit of all beings.
