The Retreat Jacket
The Retreat Jacket was inspired by the Japanese Samue jacket, a practical everyday garment traditionally worn by Buddhist monks. This piece has become an essential for meditation retreats, yet is a perfect layer over almost anything. Allow the retreat jacket to carry you to a place of rest and retreat, no matter where you are, from the countryside to the city.
Made of raw silk with a wrap tie closure and a pocket on each side.
One size Measurements:
across chest- 25” shoulder to hem- 29” sleeve opening- 21”

Dyed with plant materials grown or foraged here on the land in the Columbia River Gorge where we dye everything one piece at a time
My process of natural dyeing gives each piece a unique variation in color. Every single one is different, which means unique color patterns and levels of saturation. The photos are only an example as each one is truly one of a kind.
This is the nature of plant dyeing, which I do in my garden surrounded by a diverse array of plants, fruit, creatures amongst the rain, wind, and sun.
*Care for your rainbow + yarrow plant dyed pieces
For best results to slow down color fading
Wash in cold water, preferably with vinegar.
Air dry out of direct sunlight
For stain removal, cover the stain with dish soap, do not rub in. Let it set and then wash in cold water in the washing machine.
Plant dyed clothing will inevitably fade. Embrace the impermanence of this garment.
